Really fun, it's got that replayability that I enjoy in games.
Thoughts on additions:
1. Make it so the upgrade choices are more geared to which gemstone you choose. Its only really necessary with the summon damage gemstone
2. add a level up animation, this could fix the auto select perk and disappearing perk problem.
3. add upgrades like homing bullets, piercing, ricochet, thorns, and heal on kill
4. Condense the stat numbers for better visibility
5. some fun guns would be a single shot high damage gun with long reload time, a melee weapon, a mini-gun style gun with lots of ammo and a fire rate that increases based on how long you hold down the trigger. and some sort of charge up gun that increases damage based on charge. another fun one would be a whistle or something that summons birds from off screen to the cursor that did summon damage, the whistle itself would shoot out a little pulse that had high knockback but very little bullet damage
6. cosmetics, while unnecessary, skins are always welcome. they could be unlocked via completing a specific run IE: only summon items or all spike based upgrades.
7. A bestiary which shows enemy health and damage
8. An upgrades list that shows you all the unlocked perks and what they do
9. a way of seeing what the upgrades do to your stats IE: damage up 25% - 18->22.5
Keep in mind these are only suggestions and I wont hold it to you if they aren't implemented. You're doing a great job so far!

First and only play reaction on default settings. Enemy bullet follow time is crazy long and ridiculous. My bullet range was crazy short. Immediately disinterested in replay because of those two behaviors. Might check back-in after some updates. Clearly draws a crowd of people so nice work on that!
lol, oooh. I was like wtf. I must have coincidently run into monster at same time as bullets so it was never clear. Maybe make the XP a touch faster so you can't dodge it and more globe like? I'll try again soon.
Also, I know nothing about your game so this is a crazy suggestion. Maybe pistol bullets are weaker and slower but still have offscreen range. Feels bad to have such short bullets but again, I know nothing.
the big guys are so annoying! there's so many of them and they take like 3 mags to clear just one. they basically make a wall of damage. and there doesnt seem to be any heals without drawbacks which could ruin someones run, like if im doing a slow movement build and im low on health but the only healing power up is heal 20 hp but you are 15% slower, that could straight up make me not able to move AT ALL.
Cool game but its incredibly hard to progress with the amount of bugs, for example for about a minute and a half the game would clear my exp every second or so and I couldn't level up at all. Other bugs include auto selecting perks, and some not appearing. I do understand that this is a new game and I think it has a lot of potential, without the bugs great game.
Edit: Some more bugs: bullets going through enemies and doing no damage

This Game is actually really fun when you get the hang of it :) But I would like some sort of thing where you can get coins easier cuz it takes a bit to save up. Overall, good game to kill time :))
I'm not sure how to replicate, buy there seems to be a bug where if you're holding one of the movement keys while leveling up, one of your choices will disappear.
Also, pressing escape while the game is in fullscreen, (which the game defaults to), exits fullscreen without pausing the game.
Kkeeping LMB held while the level up items appear may cause you to immediately chose one you don't intend to. Since you're most likely to be holding LMB throughout the entire game, this happened to me quite often.
Other than that, it's a pretty frantic twin-stick shooter, (well, top-down KBM), like a non-stop Smash TV!
Neat little game! I missed a stronger feedback when the enemy is hit and the coin could pop up more in the chaos.
I understand that pixel art fonts have more size contraints, but the UI is too big overall an could use some usability pass. For instance some HUD elements could be closer together so the player can look just at one point to check status.

Just made a part 2 of the series, it is a good as i dreamed it is, but defo a skill issue on my part XD i also just realized there's a red power up which is very op
The red mastery powerups are very sick! There's a secret to unlocking them... well if you aim for specific powerups that are similar you may unlock them :)

it's definitely a fun game , i hope we can also upgrade some permanent buff using credits due to the skill rng, so player rewarded the longer they play the game imo or there's already that thing and i'm just blind... other than that it is a pretty fun game! XD

Also, I think the big bunnies have waaaay too much health. When it gets a bit busier you don't have time anymore to focus on them and then they start clogging up your screen.
I'd implement a button to skip submitting a score. Don't want to bother when my game sucked.
Apart from balancing the levels I'd also take a look at balancing the powerups. For instance, the +1 Projectile / -X damage doesn't work at all, it quickly gets you swamped because the 'rats' now take at least 3 hits.
I agree with the balance and screen shake issues mentioned beolow. Also too cramped. Because enemies just appear on the edges, there's no where really to run to avoid enemies when you're not strong enough to stand your ground.
I'll be adding a "loot/dropping" system, Monsters will have a chance to drop more (and other things). Although the coins (orbs) start dropping quickly later on!
Like these types of games, pretty nicely done also! One point of feedback, it feels a bit unbalanced at a certain stage. Played it four times now and got swamped. Or perhaps I just suck ;-) Oh, and I think the leaderboard contains a lot of cheaters :-P
fun game, pretty good so far, the screen shake is a bit annoying since it activates whenever I shoot, I believe triggering it when getting hit or when defeating a boss would make it a LOT more tolerable :)
I am playing on Linux(on Chrome browser) and when I hover my mouse on play the play button animates but when I click on it nothing happens, please fix this issue

I think the design of the coins need more thoughts, it feels like a bullet flys towards you, specially when there is a lot things going on the screen. Might be different colors or some other means to make them more easily identifiable.
It seems someone has been playing a certain surviving game implying a mythical creature in the title... In any case, great game feel :D congrats! And the browser experience is lit !

Things that can be better in my opinion:
- The upgrade texts could show simultaneosly for all the options, it's better for comparing.
- The buttons in menu are strange to press, it would be nice if they were more responsive

Oopsy Fartsy, I think there's a bug where my gun choices don't appear. Or maybe it's just me? I play on chrome.

Hey those enemy bullets are xp that help you get upgrades π and the pistol is short range, the other guns are longer range π

Does the game insta-kill you when the number below the XP bar reaches 500 or is that a bug?
Edit: As it turns out, it is supposed to say "you win" when you reach 500, but sometimes it doesn't show up
Yea the win screen need an overhaul xD it's pretty lame at the moment, but yes the goal is to hit 500 seconds and ramp up that score!

Great game, I found a couple of exploits tho.
1.) Once, the upgrade give +20 damage when standing still just gave me a flat 20+ damage even when moving not sure about that
2.) If you switch to a new weapon or special stone thing after pressing start, you start with that weapon or special stone.
